Fulfilling the commitment assumed in the V CLAI Assembly in Buenos Aires last February, making possible an interview with authorities of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Paraguay, on April 17 the representatives of CLAI, Pastor Juan Monzón, Dr. Cristina Vila, Margarita Casco de Aveiro and Rosa Lina met with Marta Lafuente, Vice-Minister of Education and Culture.

In this meeting the vice-minister was presented with the CLAI material, Learning to Educate for Peace - instrument for training educators in peace education. Vice-minister Margarita received the material with gratitude and indicated that the official education system of Paraguay already includes in its curricula the subject of Education for Peace. Nevertheless, the vice-minister showed great interest in the CLAI material because it is material for the formation of teachers, it is systematized, and has valuable content. For that reason, she proposed to study it in a team, looking for the possibilities of its use as a program of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Paraguay.

The regional CLAI proposes to organize systematic and continuous courses to train teachers in the public as well as the private sector in this important subject.
