Peruvian Congress greets Methodist Church on its anniversary

The Congress of the Republic of Peru has publicly expressed its congratulations and greetings to the Methodist Church, on the occasion of the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the establishing of its first missionary work in the country.
The motion for the greeting was moved by Congresswoman María Sumire, member of the Peruvian Nationalist Party and of the Methodist Church. The motion was later approved by the full session of the congress on June 7.
Apart from the greetings of the congress, the Methodist Church received the personal congratulations of the President of the legislature’s Commission on Education and Culture, Parliamentarian Rafael Vásquez Rodríguez, who also belongs to the PNP.
Likewise, Congresswoman Alda Lazo de Hornung, who is an Evangelical and representative of the National Restoration party (RN in Spanish), which is led by Pastor Humberto Lay, also greeted the Methodist Church on the occasion of its anniversary.
